Working is currently taking place to resurfacing the main road through Hilperton and this will affect access to the village hall over the next few weeks (from 21st September).

To be clear, it will always be possible to reach the Village Hall by vehicle but due to alternate road closures for Church Street and Hill Street the route will vary.

This morning Monday 9th October access is from the "Staverton end" via Hill Street. There is no vehicle access via Church Street (Lion and Fiddle end). We understand the plan is to move this closure this afternoon to Hill Street when access will then be from the "Lion and Fiddle end".

We will endeavour to update this article and our Facebook Page as we get news of where the closure will be each day. Apologies for any inconvenience.  

The coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support held on Saturday 30th September at the hall was a great success with over £900 raised for this very worthy cause. 

The hall was packed all morning with people enjoying coffee and cake and browsing the wide selection of local craft stalls. Congratulations to Julie Butcher and her team (pictured) for a brilliant event. More pictures are on our Photo Gallery Page 

We are excited to announce that work has started on the new building for St Michael's Pre-School on land next to Hilperton Village Hall. 

The trees have now been cleared and groundworks are starting this week. 

The building will be open for September ready for the new school year.

The Acoustic Music Evening in aid of St Michael's Pre-School new building was a great success. 

A packed house enjoyed performances from Emily Clark and Dave Huggins (pictured), Blaire Palmer accompanied by Dave, Whisky Stones and Folk Lift Truck. 

Over £600 was raised for St Michael's appeal - which will release an additional £1800 of Government grant.

Last week saw the commissioning of a new fire alarm and emergency lighting system at the village hall.

The system was designed and installed by Wheelers of Westbury following a thorough evaluation and tender process which included input from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
 
Tim Davies, Chair of Hilperton Village Hall, said “Over the last few years we have invested significant sums to improve our facilities for the thousands of local people who use the hall each year.
 
As part of this programme the Emergency Lighting has now been renewed and a new Fire Alarm System installed.
 
We are very grateful for the support of Wiltshire Council through Trowbridge Area Board who funded 50% of the cost of this project and also for generous support from Hilperton Parish Council.”

The annual Nobby Cup held on Saturday 29th April was won by Julie and Paul Butcher with Sue and Steve Roberts in second place. 

Many thanks to all who attended what was a excellent evening. 

The Hilperton Neighbourhood Development Plan steering group will have a tent at the village fete to be held on 10th June at Hilperton Village Hall, as part of the public consultation process.  

There will be people on hand to answer questions plus a Powerpoint show.  Comment sheets for responses will be available.
