The Hall has taken delivery of new, lightweight folding tables for the main hall.
Tim Davies, Chair of Trustees said: “Our main hall is used by hundreds of people each week and for a great variety of activities. For some, like bingo, we need all 20 tables set out whilst for others, such as fitness classes or brownies, we need all the tables cleared to create an open space. The old tables were heavy and therefore difficult and time consuming to put out and take down. The new tables are perhaps a third of the weight and very easy to manage for our regular activities and for the many people who hire the hall for parties.“
Tessa Harding and Rachel Hall (pictured above) have been running bingo at the hall on Wednesday evenings for many years. Tessa said: “The new tables are very smart and so easy to use. We have had so many positive comments, we are just delighted.”
The tables were purchased with support from Trowbridge Area Board and Hilperton Parish Council.
Tim commented: “We are very grateful for the generous support from Trowbridge Area Board and the Parish Council, which made a huge difference. The old tables were still functional and we have donated some to Hilperton Allotment Association and some to Hilperton Scouts.”
